Drunk Logic

Let’s face it, people, the “logic” of La Socialista’s uber-liberal editorial board has always been as intellectually bankrupt as its parent company, McClatchy Newspapers, is about to become economically bankrupt.

Take the paper’s lead editorial this morning urging the S.C. Senate to pass Hugh Leatherman’s Tax Realignment Commission (TRAC) bill – which is basically the Florence RINO’s Trojan Horse for raising taxes and fees on South Carolinians while conveniently ignoring fundamental flaws in our tax code and fee structure.

As we’ve noted in the past (here and here), TRAC is nothing but a special interest circle jerk aimed at appointing liberal tax-and-spend ideologues to yet another government-funded commission – one that is expressly prohibited from even addressing the most serious problems with our tax code and fee structure.

According to La Socialista, though, the Senate should move forward with the plan and completely abdicate its responsibility because … wait for it … they’re incapable of doing the job they were elected to do.

From the editorial:

When it’s clear that you’re not up to the job, it’s far better to acknowledge that fact and seek help than to continue to leave the job undone. Think of the alcoholic who can’t turn his life around until he acknowledges he has a problem and gets help. Certainly he would not be better off waiting until that mythical day when he’s able to dry up on his own.

Wow. Even by La Socialista’s standards, that’s an astoundingly retarded argument.

Look – if our lawmakers are truly “fail-aholics” who have proven unable to do their jobs, we should vote them out of office.

We shouldn’t let them hand-pick a bunch of their special interest buddies to study what amounts to only a small fraction of the problem.

Can we vote the newspaper editors out of office? Oh wait, we are already doing that by not subscribing nor advertising. I just read the San Francisco Chronicle may fold. Pay attention The State, that may be your future.

Drunk logic is one thing sic(k) willie is familiar with. And for once we agree with sic(k) willie. The State has made some foolish “uber-liberal” decisions.

Like when they published sic(k) willie’s silly letter titled “My Side of the Domestic Violence Story.” What moron would write a letter like that? And what moron would publish it? Brad and sic(k) willie deserve each other.
