The FITS crew recently rolled over to a “silent auction” on behalf of Irmo’s Mt. Olive Lutheran Pre-School, one of South Carolina’s most innovative 2-4 year old learning factories.
Seriously, people. If South Carolina could duplicate the amazing work being done by the committed, creative and caring staff at Mt. Olive, we would no doubt see dramatic improvements in K-12 readiness in this state.
It’s a truly impressive program with experienced teachers and a great curriculum.
Plus, at only $100 per month for the 2- and 3-year-old classes and $130 per month for four-year-olds, it’s a steal at twice the price – in any economic climate. There’s also a $30 per month “Fun Fridays play class” that’s held once each week for 2- and 3-year-olds if you want to “try it before you buy it.”
Gotta love the private sector meeting a need at a competitive price …
Anyway, in addition to walking away from the auction with several crates of assorted doilies procured by Mrs. Sic, our founding editor managed to snare this official Reebok Super Bowl XLIII hat, which we’re now giving away to one of you … as in “for free.”
No really … the hat doesn’t say “Indianapolis Colts” on it (sadly), so Sic Willie has decided to present it to the winner of our first-ever FITS Trivia Contest.
Not only that, but the winner gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (um, yeah) to appear on FITS with his/her new lid.
Here’s the trivia question …
Which Pittsburgh Steelers’ player stepped out of bounds before catching a touchdown pass in the first half of the 1995 AFC Championship game, thus depriving the Indianapolis Colts of their rightful place in Super Bowl XXX?
(And here’s your incredibly obvious hint …)
Email your answers here (subject heading “XLIII hat”) and we’ll randomly choose a winner from the correct responses.
And no, D’Bricka$haw, simply posting the correct answer in our comments section doesn’t count.
Update – Mrs. Sic is now refuting our characterization of her auction purchases … apparently vintage photo prints and a nice cloth-lined wicker picnic basket are not considered “doilies.”
