SC Hotline “Says Uncle”

Sometimes it pays to be the “big dog.”

Or in our case, the bigger of two little dogs.

Less than 48 hours after the website SC Hotline decided to “pull the plug” on publishing FITS’ content through its online aggregator, the simple laws of mathematics have forced a reversal of their decision.

How come?

Well, apparently one of the only reasons people visit SC Hotline is to click through to our website … sort of like one of the only reasons people used to come here was to click through to What Would Tyler Durden Do?

Yeah, we’re big enough to admit that.

Anyway, we ran the numbers on the “Hotline Boycott” over the last two days and found that it actually increased our daily traffic, as readers by the hundreds searched for – and found – FITS when they weren’t able to access our content on the Hotline.

Awwww … y’all like us. You really, really, really like us.

Evidently, those trend lines weren’t lost on Hotline editor Jeffery Sewell, either, which is no doubt why two of our recent stories occupy top slots on their website today …

The moral of this story?

“If you build it, they will come.”

Oh, and sometimes boycotts are good for business …

My traffic is still up. I’m still not getting linked. I really don’t care one way or the other.

But it’s nice that someone thinks that much of me.
