Shocking SC Gubernatorial Poll!

As if we needed additional proof that the Free Times is the most gullible news outlet in South Carolina, the paper’s latest edition (which hit the streets yesterday) includes an exclusive story about a 2010 gubernatorial poll that was written, conducted, analyzed and most likely also leaked to the Free Times by the campaign of S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster.

So who does the poll show winning the 2010 governor’s race?

Amazingly, Henry McMaster.

We’re not going to publish the results of the poll because we’re not retarded, but here’s the relevant info from the “There’s A Reason It’s Free” Times:

The poll was conducted in late January by the Columbia-based firm Richard Quinn & Associates, according to an executive summary of it obtained by Free Times.

The firm’s owner, McMaster campaign consultant Richard Quinn, acknowledged that he wrote the summary but said the poll findings were not supposed to be public.

It was originally intended to be a poll about McMaster’s job approval rating as attorney general, in case he decides to run for another term for that office, Quinn says. But because McMaster is also considering running for governor, the firm added questions about him as a possible gubernatorial contender.

Um, okay.

We never thought we’d say this, but it looks like McMaster’s consulting team might be even dumber than McMaster himself. Which would be quite the feat.

One thing is for sure, though, they’re banking on you being dumber than the Free Times. Which would also be quite the feat.

In related news, a recent poll written, conducted and analyzed by FITS (and leaked to FITS by Sic Willie) revealed that Sic Willie is currently leading in the S.C. governor’s race.

If Henry Mc is elected in a contested election, after reading yesterday’s FITS post on how well Henry and the Queen Jean are getting along, guess there will be a helluva time over in the Supreme Court building confirming the election results. South Carolinians will not be short on entertainment the next couple of years.

i like that mcmaster’s team only puts him head to head with other candidates. i would love to see a poll that had mcmaster, bauer, barrett and one other to see where henry/andre support really is. i’d venture to say both henry and andre would not get out of the 20′s. remember beasley/demint? june 2010 can’t come soon enough so the goons at rqa lose another statewide race.

YOU are attacking someone else’s credibility for not giving the back-up? Good one.

You’re the PT Barnum of bloggers. It’s all about the attention. Verifiable facts? Not so much.

I wouldn’t vote for Henry McMaster if he was the only one in the race. He almost bankrupted the SCGOP.

    He is a bonehead.

Let’s start calling this type of “news” what it really is -propaganda.

    Nothing more -nothing less.

If this is how McMaster operates- by pitching propaganda out to the masses- instead of ideas on how to reform our state government- then let’s find another candidate with higher standards.

I think Richard has lost his mojo. In any event, Barrett will win.

Henry McMaster always uses the influence of his office to cover up the fact he has issues with adult magazines(Craig’s List); issues with improper relationships with con-artists that he protected for ten m onths while they ripped off the senior citizens of this state and now one of the insurance companies used by the con-artists is on the verge of bankruptcy; issues with the Ethics Commission and if the new media of this state had a backbone there is no telling what else they would discover how hi uses his office to protect himself and to benefit himself personally. He is a disgrace to the citizens of SC, law enforcement and the judicial system he supposedly represents. He is unfit for any public office above latrine officer
