Eric Holder Is Forgetting Something

Black people are driving a hard bargain these days.

At least newly-minted U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is, calling the very country that just elected an African-American as its 44th President “a nation of cowards” on racial issues.

Huh?

Holder’s speech was supposed to be a tribute to Black History Month, but it ended up sparking a firestorm of controversy with his questionable assessment of race relations in America.

“Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot in things racial, we have always been, and we, I believe, continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards,” Holder said in a speech at the Justice Department in Washington, D.C. “Though race-related issues continue to occupy a significant portion of our political discussion, and though there remain many unresolved racial issues in this nation, we, average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about things racial.”

Holder went on to refer to shopping malls as “race-protected cocoons,” and afterward told reporters that “if we’re going to ever make progress, we’re going to have to have the guts, we have to have the determination, to be honest with each other” on racial issues.

Aside from the fact that Holder has obviously never visited a shopping mall in South Carolina, are we missing something here?

Seriously?

Are we?

Wait … what’s that, you say? President Barack Obama is not black?

He’s what? Bi-racial?

Well dammit.

We should have known those cracker sons of bitches were up to something.

Anyway, here’s Holder’s speech …

It seems like Holder completely missed the boat. This would have be perfect opportunity to discuss how far America has come in just a few decades. Look at race relations in Europe to get an idea. I think there’s this idea the United States is more racist than our counterparts and it’s not true. We should be celebrating the fact that truly no position of influence is unattainable because of skin color. Instead Holder offered these divisive remarks that are not constructive.

When did we become such a nation of negativity? Didn’t this administration promise us hope and change? We should quit tearing ourselves down and concentrate on the tasks at hand.

I kind of agree with Holder, but for reasons entirely opposite to the “point” the AG was trying to make. All it takes to turn some of the most powerful people in this country into spineless jellyfish is to accuse them of racism. I agree that America is full of cowards who refuse to stand up to the race hustlers and the PC police.
