Bud Selig Is Not Hip
As if presiding over baseball’s steroids era wasn’t enough to make him sufficiently uncool, Major League commissioner Bud Selig still expresses frustration by inserting the phrase “you-know-what” where most people would just suck it up and say “crap.”
Well golly gee, Mr. Commissioner. Why not just throw some Danny & The Juniors on and head on down to the hop.
Oh, and in what could be the early stages of dementia setting in, Selig says that he shouldn’t be blamed for the proliferation of steroid use among baseball’s top stars.
From Fan Nation:
“I don’t want to hear the commissioner turned a blind eye to this or he didn’t care about it,†Selig said. “That annoys the you-know-what out of me. You bet I’m sensitive to the criticism. The reason I’m so frustrated is, if you look at our whole body of work, I think we’ve come farther than anyone ever dreamed possible.â€
Hmmm … more like baseball has eroded the public trust faster than anyone dreamed possible.
The good news is that Selig will be haunted by the ghost of Bart Giamatti for the rest of his life, which we’re sure will also annoy the “you-know-what” out of him, gosh darnit.

I am convinced that MLB not only knew about steroid use, they encouraged it. I remember reading a SI back around ‘97 in which they described interest in baseball was at an all time low and the whole league was on the verge of bankruptcy. Miraculously, the next year there was a hugely publicized home run race between two steroid filled players. There was a large increase in the number of home runs across the board. I remember saying back then that the balls were juice or something was obviously orchestrated.

I’d love to “juice” on JSP’s fine ass.
