Gas Prices Are Creepin’ Up Again
After flirting with $5 a gallon during the dog days of late summer, gas prices in South Carolina have dipped considerably in recent months.
Over the Christmas holidays, for example, a gallon of regular unleaded could be had for as low as $1.25.
Well, $1.25 and the obligatory nine-tenths of a cent.
Today, prices are still less than half what they were five months ago … but they’re slowly creeping back up again.
In fact, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in South Carolina shot up by nearly 30 cents this month as output slackened and industry analysts braced for a possible strike by the United Steel Workers’ Union that could shut down dozens of the nation’s oil refineries.
South Carolina’s statewide average is currently $1.77 a gallon, which is 13 cents below the national average of $1.90 – or seventh-lowest in the nation.

It’s okay now. The Democrats are in charge. They will “take care” of us. Better grab your old Huffy and inflate the tires…

The Republicans put the gas price down in hopes for votes Roofus. That’s a no brainer…. Republicans = gas prices/forever.
Now SCEG wants more of our money too….
does it end? with all of us in the dark without vehicles that start?
HOW does any of this help the real economy?
I do understand it helps the CEOs of SCEG and the gas companies with their private economy though.
