Does the Republican Party really need or want someone whose only purpose is to "shake things up?"

I'd rather have an intelligent leader who understands the issues, won't put his foot in his mouth every other week and realizes that he's not there to promote himself, but to advance the interests and constituents of the party he represents.

That person, hands down, is Kevin Hall. If you're not familiar with Kevin, contact him and I'd imagine he'd be happy to talk. He's a personable guy, knows his stuff and understands the significance of the task before the next party chairman.

As a Pee Dee Republican, I can tell you I would be happy to vote for Rick Beltram for SCGOP chair to get a real change in leadership style for the party. I have known Kevin Hall's name for a while (though I do not know him personally) but he seems to be the same kind of cookie cutter, white bread country club attorney that we see time and time again just spewing out the Republican talking points. Beltram seems like a grassroots guy, kind of gritty, at times a character, not some preppy elitist (although I do hear he has a nice house). But it will at least be fun to see him shake things up at the Convention if he runs.

I'm still keeping my guard up. Something like this is more vintage Lee Atwater, writing a personal attack on your own client to shore up sympathy for him and then finding a scapegoat like Beltram to push it off on, walking away clean.

And, if its one thing I know from reading this site, it is that Will dreams he was Lee Atwater. I say Will and Hall's other consultants might have taken this play right out of Atwater's playbook.

What's up with Nelson Motors? They are flat owned by Democrat Queen Jean Toal and now they hire a republican Wilkins and have another employee running for chairman of the Republican party? Guess She will then own both parties.

We all know that Beltram has always thought any press was good press. Why the change of heart?

If he was really concerned with the good of the SCGOP, he would have resigned last year when he was caught taking money from candidates. He uses his position as a money maker. He brags that he brought in more than $100,000 for the Spartanburg GOP last year, but they are still in the crappy little hellhole of an office for only a couple hundred dollars rent per month. He says the money goes to help candidates, but yet the Spartanburg candidates only received about $500 each. As for the presidential stuff, he was selling the McCain/Palin yard signs and bumper stickers. Of course I’m not accusing Beltram of anything, but it does look awfully suspicious. In the spirit of transparency and to regain the trust of the GOP, we seriously need an independent audit of Spartanburg County GOP books!!!

SIC:
Please get off my case. This type of campaigning is not my style. This needs to be a very clean race.....if there is even a race.
By the way, you have written at least twice that I am an announced candidate.
That is NOT true.
I have asked you to be honest......long ago....and yet, you continue to write false things about me. Please STOP for the good of the SCGOP!
Thank you.
