Edgerrin James Is A Pimp

In one of those rare signs that capitalism is still alive and well in America, Arizona Cardinals’ running back Edgerrin James paid cash for a white Lamborghini and had it shipped to Tampa for him to tool around in during Super Bowl week.

“Cash, straight out the door!” James proudly told the Cardinals’ official team reporter when asked how he paid for his new ride.

“I only rent tents and bouncehouses,” he added.

And we’re just guessing here, but James is probably not talking about one of these bouncehouses. In fact, if our urban dictionary is correct, he is much more likely referring to one of these bouncehouses.

And yes, it looks as if there’s room for at least one bouncehouse in there, people. Maybe two.

Anyway, for those of you who are fretting such a lavish expense in these lean times, James makes $5.2 million a year and will likely sign a bigger deal when he leaves Arizona in the off-season.

Which is another way of saying he’s making bank and can spend his money however he damn well pleases.

“Why not?” James said of his new six-figure purchase. “It’s the Super Bowl and this is a fun week. Why not have it?”

Anyone who has a problem with that should probably try their hand at amassing over 12,000 career rushing yards (and over 3,000 receiving yards) in 10 NFL seasons.

We’ve never tried that ourselves (except on Madden ‘08), but we’re guessing it’s not easy …
