Bye Bye, Blago
Let’s face it, now-former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich isn’t much different than the typical American politician – he just got caught being a typical American politician on tape.
Honestly, over the past couple of months we’ve actually grown to like him, and were a little bit sorry to see the Illinois Senate unanimously boot him out of office yesterday.
Seriously, people. If nothing else Blago has been great entertainment.
Of course, the only question surrounding Blagojevich’s fall from grace is why the hell aren’t we tapping the phones of more politicians?
Imagine the treasure trove we could uncover …
And for those of you who feel our sudden affinity for “tapping phones” might undercut our libertarian credentials, remember that the federal government can wiretap anybody it wants, anytime, without a warrant.
It’s how they roll … and the U.S. House even went into a super-secret closed door session last year to make sure they could keep rolling that way.
All we’re saying is that if this sort of indignity is going to be foisted on the average American, the least our law enforcement can do is take down a few more Blagojevich’s while they’re at it.
