Sanford “Plane” Loves The NAACP
There’s a scene in the movie Jerry Maguire in which the title character’s affinity for African-Americans is called into question by one of his clients, prompting an especially effusive response.
“I love black people!” the sports agent screams into his phone. “I’m Mr. Black People!”
Well, S.C. Governor Mark Sanford is “Mr. Black People,” people.
In fact, Sanford has such a man-crush on Barack Obama that he wanted to fly some regular black folks up to Washington, D.C. on the state plane last week to take in the inaugural festivities … a great idea which the governor then ruined by also inviting SC NAACP president Lonnie Randolph.
Seriously, people – Randolph is still encouraging businesses to boycott our state. And we’re supposed to spring for him to fly on the state plane?
That’s B.S. when you consider everything this man is doing to try and hurt all South Carolinians’ bottom lines – black bottoms and white bottoms.
Specifically, Randolph announced last summer that he was working with Hollywood officials to keep film projects from locating in our state as part of the NAACP’s Confederate Flag boycott. He’s also working with the North Carolina NAACP to block collaborative agreements between the two state’s film offices.
Then there’s Randolph’s annual meeting of his branch, which has been held in Charlotte, N.C. the last eight years in honor of the boycott.
Oh, and let’s not forget his work to keep the NCAA from holding postseason athletic tournaments in South Carolina.
Now you tell us, is this the kind of guy Sanford should be hooking up with an all-expense paid trip to D.C.?
We say “hell to the no,” but that’s just us.
The power to decide is now in your hands …

Several years ago, Lonnie Randolph operated through one of his lieutenants, Vince Ford, chairman of the Richland School District 1 board chairman to place an unqualified principal at AC Flora High School simply because she was black. This principal was horrible and was finally taken out to a school that is 99% black. It is not about fairness or equal opportunity with Mr. Randolph. It’s about reverse discrimination.

Saford should not have gone to the Obama Bash. He should have kept the taxpayers plane in the hanger…and spent that money and his time and his efforts on the business of SC.
Novel idea I know…but that is how I feel about it.

Gov. Hoover should reimburse the state for the cost of all his guests on the state plane. You can bet that if Jim Rex was ferrying private citizens around at state expense, the Unguv would be bitching about it: http://www.indigojournal.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=423

BO has hypnotized the world. Everyone is deeply under his spell. Reagan was accused of voodoo economics. We’ll see where Barry’s enchantment takes us. Anyway, as stupid as it is that our lofty guv should be kissin’ the hinny of the rascal randolph at least if he is going to take him for an outing in our plane, he should treat him as freeloaders are treated on Air Force One. There, if you take a ride, you must pay full first class airfare plus one dollar. But what the hay, we don’t need the money, we just need friends. And randy randolph has proven himself our very best friend. I’m looking into Barry’s eyes… I’m getting sleepy… Very sleepy… I’m feeling rosey all over and want to have a gentle sit down with Imadinnerjacket. Let um have there bombs and abortions for everyone! On me!
