First Super Bowl Ad Ban: Broccoli?

Sex and broccoli do not mix – at least not during the Super Bowl.

NBC has decided to ban a new ad from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) that features several scantily-clad women writhing around suggestively while licking and fondling different vegetables.

“Studies show vegetarians have better sex,” the ad says.

First of all, aren’t vegetarians disproportionately gay, and thus immune to such overtly sexual pitches? Just sayin …

And when the hell did women writhing around suggestively and licking things become so offensive?

There’s plenty of that going around on network TV, people, and we don’t see anything in this ad that’s “over the top.”

Make that the first BROADCAST ad banned this season.

The NFL already kicked a print ad from the program, but I can’t figure out why.

the fact that PETA’s ad was rejected maximizes the attention PETA might get from it, so the ad is working out great for them
