Cloned Puppy

His name is Lancelot Encore, and he’s the world’s first commercially-cloned puppy.

He’s also precisely 1000X more expensive than what you would pay if you went down to your local animal adoption agency and picked up a pooch who really needs a home.

Anyway, Lancelot Encore was purchased by Florida residents Nina and Edgar Otto for $155,000 after he was “created” by South Korean firm BioArts International using DNA from the couple’s previous pet.

Which was obviously named Lancelot.

The Ottos had the DNA from the original Lancelot frozen five years ago in the hopes that the technology would one day emerge to clone his replacement.

Which it now has.

Frankly, this sort of thing freaks us out.

Sure, he’s cute and cuddly now, but when he stages a global canine coup all bets are off …
