FAQ On The Black Envelope Story
Since we obviously kicked open quite a hornet’s nest with our story the other day on an alleged SCGOP blackmail scandal involving State Law Enforcement Division agents, we figured we might as well take our best shot at answering a few of frequently asked questions we’ve been receiving.
Here’s the original story, which outlines how an alleged plot to blackmail a prominent S.C. Republican official is said to have gone terribly awry.
And here are some of your questions from the FITS mailbox …
Q: Do you know who the elected official targeted by the alleged blackmailer is?
A: Yes.
Q: Do you know the nature of the information the blackmailer threatened to expose?
A: Yes.
Q: Why hasn’t that information been released?
A: On the advice of our attorneys, we have chosen to confine our narrative to what has been alleged by individuals within the law enforcement agency at the heart of the story.
Q: Will that information ever be released?
A: That part is not up to us, but our attorneys.
Q: Aren’t you afraid of getting sued over this?
A: No.
Q: How is this different from other political parlor gossip?
A: Like most stories, it originated from a political source. We expected our law enforcement sources to debunk it, but to our surprise they ended up confirming what was alleged.
Q: Isn’t all of this just an attempt to hurt Katon Dawson in his bid for Republican National Committee Chairman?
A: No. All of the candidates for RNC chairman are equally incompetent in our book. Whoever wins that race is irrelevant to us.
Q: Is the MSM ever going to break this story?
A: Possibly. We hear they are working it hard.
Q: Your critics demand proof, where is it?
A: What, did we take pictures of the person after their alleged beat down? Look, we got a tip, we followed up on it with credible sources and received multiple independent confirmations of the account we published.

If it makes you feel any better, Drudge took beatings like these for years, and still does (occasionally).

Mike: If you are refering to Matt Drudge, his web page links to other published news sources not rumors and tips.

Will:
This is the stuff that gets you criticized – saying something intriguing and then no follow-up in a prompt time period. Where is “the rest of the story”???

Again, sic(k) willie delivers scams. “justme,” you’re right.
Where are details on willie’s allegation of a Midlands’ elected official with a “so called” Strom problem? Where are details on his allegation the gub’ner paid off the family of a “poor little black girl.” We have more questions.
Stunning allegations. They got attention.
So does someone who farts in an elevator.
Now he claims a SLED “beat down” squad.
sic(k) willie, put up or shut up. Now!

Bin -Do you ever have any news? Is there a website we can go see what you really do every day ? Or is all you do whine and stay infatuated with Sic Willie’s ass, a black girl , and a homosexual fantasy with Strom?
Are you a bot of some sorts who is stuck and needs new programming? I hope so – because if you are indeed a real human , you are nothing but pathetic.

I hear the lady who had the octuplets has 8 vaginas. Of course I’m not giving up my pic of the octopus but trust me. I have it from a reliable source that she also has 8 nipples. Her husband has threatened to give me a beat down if I divulge my source.

JustWondern- For the most part I can see your point, especially the Drudge site as it exists now. I was really referring back to when Drudge was much less mainstreamed than he is today; he would (as he still does on occasion) break stories with no real attribution other than his own sources, and they most often turned out to be dead-on. I haven’t really researched it, but I seem to remember that’s how the Clinton/Lewinski story began to leak. I’m by no stretch trying to confirm or afirm Sic’s details in this saga, but all such stories have to start somewhere, right?

I say we still are not telling what is really going on in South Carolina.
Media/Blogs/People no longer want the truth.
