Heels “Studio 54″ Clempsun

Perfection came with an exclamation point in Chapel Hill last night, as the University of North Carolina extended its total domination of Clempsun by putting up a surprise 94-70 blowout on the ninth-ranked Farmers.

At 54 wins and no losses, the fifth-ranked Heels’ extended an NCAA record for the longest home winning streak against one opponent.

For the boys from “Moo U,” it was their second loss in a row after starting the season 16-0, following a loss at home to Wake Forest.

What happened to cause the Farmers’ season to further unravel?

Well, we’re not experts or anything, but we’re guessing that Clempsun’s 29% shooting percentage in the second half may have had something to do with it.

ANOTHER BUZZER BEATER FOR SHA-ZAM

Meanwhile, down in Columbia, S.C. first-year Gamecock head coach Darrin Horn scored his second SEC win (and second Top 25 upset) in dramatic fashion over No. 24 Florida.

And for the second time this season, it was Zam “Sha-Zam” Frederick scoring the game-winning bucket at the buzzer.

Frederick – who beat No. 19 Baylor earlier this month on a last-second shot – hit a layup as time expired to give USC the 70-69 win and put an end to Florida’s ten-game winning streak.

South Carolina is now 13-4 on the season.
