Clempsun Fans Are Classy, Too

The previously-undefeated Clempsun Farmers lost their first basketball game of the 2008-09 season against No. 2 Wake Forest at home yesterday, but it was the behavior of one over-zealous Farmer fan that was most newsworthy.

Except not really …

In fact, most of the mainstream media completely ignored the body-slam that an unidentified Clempsun fan administered to Wake Forest junior Chas McFarland midway through the second half of the game, despite the fact that several replays of the incident (with commentary) were played during the nationally-televised game.

“The physicality extends even beyond the endline,” veteran ABC play-by-play announcer Brent Musburger says while watching replays of the clip. “Life is tough back there in the bleachers.”

Ironically, though, the only MSM mention of the incident we’ve been able to find was a Charlotte Observer story curious-entitled  “Atmosphere At Littlejohn Top-Notch,” in reference to the Farmers’ basketball arena.

In that story, the body-slam is under-described as a fan “detaining (McFarland) from getting back on the court.”

Whatever.

Clempsun fans are assholes, people.

Clemson fans, proving once again they truly are the bottom-of-the-barrel – and you wonder why everyone in the ACC hates you. . .

The problem with the instate comparison is that Stromworld University issues diplomas that can be read by those that receive them. Clemson will be a top 20 school. The USC does have good and competent new president. But the USC system is too big to be chock full of excellence.

Go to the Clemson versus USC game at Clemson and you will see all the rednecks are wearing garnet and black. At least all the annoying rednecks are Shamecocks

I was at the game. The fan was removed. I actually sit pretty close to the court and may have been 75 feet from the incident.

What you don’t see is, McFarland fell into the fan. McFarland then got up and held onto the fan the fan fell into him slamming him like the 7 foot bitch he is.

Anyway, I don’t really think was premeditated or intentional. It looked like they got tangled up and McFarland is a spaz.

Kinda looks like the Clempsun farmers who body slammed Smelly in November….. Actually, the farmers didn’t want to sack Smelly that much because he was throwing good interceptions. We didn’t want to stop that pattern.

Give me a break. I have been to many home games for both schools, and there is no comparing the redneck totals. Clemson wins in a landslide. There is a reason they don’t sell garnet overalls at USC. Its not the students, but the bubba bandwagon fans that latched on in the Danny Ford era.

Sic, I have received reports that the young man who body slammed Chaz McFarland (aka Jeff Thordahl) at the Clemson/Wake Forest game looks a lot like John DeWorken ….

I saw that and it reminded me of a Metro Conference game I attended where my law school classmate was ejected and banned from the Coliseum for punching Pervous Ellison.

Sic and company, unidentified sources are reporting that Jeff Thordahl, Wake Forest Class of ’86, has done no work today. Instead, Thordahl has been emailing everyone he knows with the latest ESPN poll showing that the Wake Forest Demon Deacons are number 1 in college basketball.

I even heard a rumor that he’s been walking around saying “Don’t mess with Chaz” all day.
