Nice spot the "School Choice" people put together. Sheheen is going strongly against the Zeitgeist on this issue. He's toast for the November election. Perhaps the only area where he could get the upper hand on Haley would be a EAR FLAPPING CONTEST. Does anyone think he'll challenge Haley to such a Dumbo contest?

Baker,

Transporting those poor kids to our public schools has really helped them out, huh?!?!

Why are you so afraid of school choice? Afraid it might work like it has elsewhere? Hmmmm....

FITSNews and Mark Sanford and SCRG keep talking about educational "freedom" and "choice" and choice as a way to drastically improve things.

Yet, time and again (and again and again....) it is pointed out the Mark Sanford's plan, the so-called Put Parents in Charge, guaranteed NOTHING to our state's poorest families -- the ones whose kids, in general, are most challenged, most in need, most likely to drop out of school and bring our state's achievement statistics down. Those families MIGHT get money through scholarship-granting organizations (SGOs), or they might not. And if they did get money, then what? Does Sanford's plan guarantee they'd get into the school of their "choice"? Could they get into the school his kids attend, Heathwood Hall? Could they get into the one or two private schools operating in many rural counties? Would they have transportation to schools well outside their neighborhoods?

Educational freedom, eh?

Hey BIN...where were you this week on that $700 million school district slush fund? School choice means freedom for parents and children. You're nothing more than a front group for the educrats. Jeez...with all that cash they're hiding they could at least get you your own website.

sic(k) willie and the Voice for Voucher Scams seem to have an affair going.

Vouchers are dead in SC. The Voice for Voucher Scams has been exposed as one of Howie's front "groups." IF you can call a webpage and a paid consultant a group.

Vincent didn't say "um, um" but about half as many times as Sanford did. Did Sanford read the speech before he gave it this year?

My favorite part is where he talks about taking his kids to the same elementary school that he went to.

It's good to know that the nephew of the former Speaker and son of the former director of the Commission on Higher Ed. is just regular people. Especially considering that he could have become a lawyer/legislator fighting for the special interests. Oh, wait...

There is a new gal on the state board of education, named "Rose Sheheen". Is this person related to Vincent Sheheen? If so, this stinks to the high heaven. How can someone appoint a relative?

Anyway, I am just asking.
