Don't wear your seat belt and die---that's your problem. Don't wear your seat belt and get a head injury---now it's my problem (unless you're stinkin rich). Necessary law for those of us smart enough to buckle up but sharing the road with those who aren't.

Crooner, my dad would never let me get the baby blue '66 Mustang that I wanted. Even though he had the money and I was driving very, very good. I will always remember that.

I always wear my seatbelt and require my family to do the same. But I agree with FITs that this is an inappropriate intrusion into one's freedoms. Particularly, the freedom to be an idiot, which is an inalienable right bestowed by our creator. Of course, those who have yet to reach the age of majority have no such freedom.

I've come a long way on this issue since my first car, which was a '68 Firebird convertible with the lap belts cut out.

I haven't heard of it here yet, but some states allow police to stop you to thank you for wearing your seatbelt. Now that's a crock isn't it?
((Thanks for following the law????)
