The Word For Today Is “Job”
Forget Barack Obama.
With the American economy shedding 524,000 jobs in December (on top of 584,000 in November and 423,000 in October), we think Mr. Jones from Friday is the man America truly needs right now.
Forget bailouts and massive federal works programs, just take a look at some of the sound economic and life wisdom he imparts in this collection of clips from the classic 1994 film …
Incidentally, blacks have the highest unemployment rate among minorities right now at 12%, although we suspect no one in Mr. Jones household is looking for work.
“Blacks are concentrated in industries that are seasonal and cyclically volatile,” one analyst observed, “and so they are the among the first to lose their jobs.”
Also, remember that all of these job losses post-date President George W. Bush’s $700 billion bailout, which some folks told us was key to avoiding an economic Pearl Harbor.
All told, the U.S. government has spent or pledged upwards of $10 trillion to keep the economy from falling off of the cliff … to no avail.
Perhaps we should try Mr. Jones unique brand of “tough love” for a change
Of course, the irony is there’s probably plenty of that going around right now all across America … just none of it emanating from Washington.

I totally respect the guy for telling his son to just put some water on the cereal (no milk in fridge) and eat it. This erases YEARS of guilt I have carried around over making Jr. eat his cereal with orange juice when we were out of milk.
Being out of milk is the pits. Another reason to try and smuggle a goat into your life.
+Goats eat lawns, freeing Dad up for meaningful stuff: trips to art museum.
+You can make soap from some by-product of a goat.
+Goats drive homeowner association nazis to the brink of ignition.
