New SCPC Website
The S.C. Policy Council, the Palmetto State’s preeminent conservative think tank, rolled out a cool new website today full of all sorts of groovy stuff, including a S.C. Spend-O-Meter and a 2009 recorded vote tracker.
The vote tracker will provide an up-to-date tally of just how transparent (or more likely, how not transparent) the S.C. General Assembly is being this year as it cast votes impacting millions of dollars … and lives.
The new Policy Council site – which you can visit by clicking here – also features dozens of research documents, fact sheets and other publications that you can download directly from the site.
It’s a nice upgrade for an organization that got the whole open government ball rolling last year and has consistently pushed the envelope in support of lower taxes and limited government in this state.
Incidentally, the new Policy Council site was designed by The Mace Group, which … hey … wait a minute … (scroll down to the bottom of this page) … that’s the same company that does our website!
Sounds like …
Sorry … the song is called “A Conspiracy” and it seemed to fit there, especially since people like to play a little game called “Six Degrees of Sic Willie” in an effort to pin the whole of South Carolina’s vast right wing conspiracy back on our founding editor.
Well, in that case we’ve got some breaking news – S.C. Policy Council president Ashley Landess and Sic not only know each other personally (gasp!), but they even converse directly with each other occasionally (double gasp!) about different issues.
We know, we know … adults chatting. It should totally be illegal.

Ahhh … The South Carolina (Libertarian) Policy Council. You may want to tell your friend there at SC(L)PC that they left a key name out of the title of their organization … (I wonder what that name is … hrmmmm).
While you are having one of those conversations with those folks at the SC(L)PC, would you be so kind as to have the SC(L)PC staff boot Kevin Bryant out of the office there? His constituents would actually like him to represent the folks that elected him, not some self-serving, “screw-you, I got mine,” pseudo-libertarian think tank group.
I mean really. The Gressette Building is on the State House Grounds, Senator, not across the street from USC.
Remember – change happens with the people, not with whom the people elect.

People made some changes in Anderson County alright, but it didn’t involve Kevin Bryant. How’s that ethanol depot coming along, SSHM?

SSHM: Your clever insight regarding the bogus S.C. (Librepublicrat) Policy Council clearly demonstrates you are a genius, a Great American and certainly deserving of The Order of the Ham Sandwich.Have some extra mayo. You deserve it.
sic(k) willie: How amazing the S.C. (Librepublicrat) Policy Council web site is designed by the same company that does yours. sic(k) willie, can you give us contact info for The Mace Group? We need a competitive quote from them for the new BIN News site we are designing. Can you get us a good hourly rate?

@elroy
I couldn’t tell you, but I’d wager it’s going a lot better than Senator Bryant’s attempts at becoming a used car salesman. Opening a car dealership in the parking lot of his pharmacy . . . yeah . . .
Wants to be everything but a Senator. Go figure. LOL

Hey BIN: Where were your comments yesterday when sic unveiled the $700 million slush fund school districts are sitting on while telling the public they’re broke? Oh yeah, that’s right…you were hiding.

Hey Amy, I notice you keep refering to him as “Senator.” That’s really all we need to know.
