Dawson = Not Winning

Despite spending hundreds of thousands of SCGOP dollars in a not-so-thinly-veiled effort to buy votes for his candidacy, SCGOP Chairman Katon Dawson is trailing the majority of the field in his bid to lead the Republican National Committee.

Political blogger extraordinaire Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post has just published his updated analysis of the race, which we’re guessing you won’t be reading about over on “Dawson’s Infomercial.”

Out of the six candidates for the job, Dawson is currently ranked fifth, according to Cillizza.

From Cillizza’s “Fix” blog:

Dawson, the chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party, got into the race believing that he could be the candidate to unify the southern bloc and, in doing so, claim the chairmanship. It was sound logic at the time but there now that there are several southerners (Duncan, Saltsman) in the field and there seems to be reluctance to choose a southerner as the face of the party, Dawson’s logic makes less sense.

Wait … reluctance? Why would there be reluctance? Oh yeah … nevermind.

Now comes the question of whether or not Dawson’s “logic” of spending all that SCGOP money in other states to pad his vote count will “make sense” with South Carolina Republicans … particularly if he doesn’t win.

Based on what we’re hearing, it’s already going over like mid-worship flatulence.

In related news, we hear Dawson is going absolutely nuts and blaming everybody under the sun for our recent reporting about his financial irresponsibility as state chairman.

Seriously … even after we took a pass on the Black Suburban story.

Amazingly, as it turns out we were motivated once again by that peskiest of all influences, a.k.a. our fiscal responsibility complex.

We know, we know … it’s out of control, people. We’ll try to get it under wraps one of these days …

Mr. Dawson, you can blame everyone under the sun if you want to, but the simple fact that you have refused to distance yourself or make a public stand against RINO’s like Senator Jakie Knotts will continue to cost you more in the Republican party in the future. You must deweed the garden of people like Jakie before the party can truely be unified.

I beg to differ. This is the guy who embraced Howard Rich in his own home. I don’t think you can distance yourself further from Jakie Knotts, than by doing just what Dawson did.

Plus, what all of you people don’t realize, is an old rule not to take politics personal. Katon is a likable and very personable guy, who has never met a stranger. Attacking his daughter, as well as McMaster’s, etc is crossing the line. Y’all are the people who are ruining the American political landscape.

Glad to know we have that much influence H.R.

Until I see Katon Dawson publicly alienate Senator Jakie Knotts from the party, I can’t support him.

Vierdsen never said it was a black Suburban. Maybe there is more to that story?

His lil’ butty Lindsey Graham was ranked fifth among some 2012 Presidential hopefuls as well, wasn’t he? Sounds like the magic unlucky number for RINO traitors from South Carolina.

Ooh — need a pingback from that ‘Washington Times’ misinformation, Willie!

I just can’t believe the GOP would let the wool be pulled over their eyes again — or wait, maybe I could.
