Having helped S.C. House Speaker Bobby Harrell raid the state treasury for so many years, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that former Spartanburg Rep. Scott Talley stood by and did absolutely nothing while an unarmed white man robbed his local bank.
Yeah, you heard that right – an unarmed white man.
Specifically, Talley did nothing to stop this intimidating dude … who strolled into a Spartanburg County branch of First Citizens Bank and ripped the joint off of $6,320 while Talley apparently cowered in fear in the corner.
From the SHJ:
“I’m glad the teller was OK. Nice lady. I’m glad it wasn’t anything more than it was,” Talley said. “But once you realize what happened, it was a little unnerving.”
He paused.
“It was more than a little unnerving. It was unnerving,” he said with a slight laugh. “That’s like taking the bar exam. You do it one time, and you don’t want to do it, and then you hope it never happens again.”
“Like taking the bar exam?”
Jeez.
As people who like to run around robbing banks all whacked on the Scooby snacks (while yelling out lines from Pulp Fiction), all we can say is thank God for people like Scott Talley.

maybe if talley was big and brave like Folks and beat up women; he could have taken guy down. nothing like responsible reporting. apparently you missed the fact that no one knew the place was being robbed until the guy left. but then again, who needs facts, right? hiding in fear sounds better anyway.

sic(k) willie, “…you ignorant slut.” You distort facts to attack those you do not like and who do not pay you (the vast majority of reasonable “folks”).
Scott, thanks for keeping your cool and not hurting the guy. We all know that if there was any threat or danger to the public you would have leaped with catlike reflexes to “take down” the perp and restrain him for authorities.
Scott, under the circumstances you clearly used excellent judgment to protect the public and allow Law Enforcement to do its job. They certainly will.
