Chickies, try this one -- "I was driving so fast/ran the stop sign/drove down a one-way street ...because there was a grasshopper flying around inside my car and I was just hurrying-up to get somewhere where there were people. People who could help me get this grasshopper out of my car." Works like a charm in rural areas. Or better yet -- drive the frickin' speed limit & don't drink and drive.
