Good For The Jews

So the Arab world is up in arms over Israel deciding to drop the hammer on several Hamas strongholds in the Gaza Strip over the weekend, killing over 250 terrorists and close to two dozen civilians.

Egypt, Libya, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon were among the nations that put out statements condemning the attacks.

Wait, a ten-to-one terrorist-to-civilian ratio and people are pissed off? Really?

Not us. We say good for the Jews.

Seriously, people. The Israelis sent out thousands of cell phone messages to Palestinians prior to the attacks telling them to get away from any Hamas installations or known weapon depots.

Duh.

Of course, such an unnecessary display of good sportsmanship stands in stark contrast to the tactics of Hamas, which randomly launched 60 rockets into Israeli territory two days before Christmas, and has pledged specifically “to put thousands of Zionist civilians in the line of fire.”

Basically, Israel did everything it could to avoid civilian casualties in its latest armed action, while Hamas consistently does everything it can to create civilian casualties with its random rocket assaults.

Even President-elect Barack Obama has sympathized with the plight of the Israelis, saying this summer on a trip to the region that “If somebody was sending rockets into my house, where my two daughters sleep at night, I’m going to do everything in my power to stop that. And I would expect Israelis to do the same thing.”

No sh*t.

We’re not always huge fans of Israel here at FITS, but in this case it’s tough to argue with their point.

A six-month cease-fire in the area had benefited both sides in this ongoing dispute, but Hamas broke that cease-fire (probably the eleventy kabillionth cease fire between Israelis and Palestinians that’s been made and broken by one side or the other) and started trying to blow up Israeli civilians again.

Of course the Jews fought back.

And as far as we’re concerned there is no such thing as a “proportional response” when you’re dealing with terrorists who intentionally try to blow up women and kids.

Those are people you deal with very simply – by blowing their sh*t up, bulldozing it and salting the earth.
