Sanford has been trying to get the SPA to sell that small acreage for what now -like the last 7 years?? You would think with the Governor appointing the SPA board members, it would be a snap of the fingers to sell that property -especially during the biggest real estate boom in the last 50 years. Too bad it didn't happen. The SPA owns around 1000 acres on Daniel Island that is currently sitting idle - and several terminals in Charleston that are poorly utilized. No real benefits to the taxpayers will occur with the current SPA management in place. We have to assume Gov. Sanford approves of the SPA's management performance or else he would do something about it. You can only talk reform for so long. I think Gov.
