U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint has agreed to pay $25,000 in fines to the Federal Election Commission after it was revealed that he took nearly $70,000 in excessive contributions during his 2004 U.S. Senate race.

In other news, we’ve added a nifty “drop shadow” to the pictures that appear on our website. Pretty cool, eh?

Anyway, we first brought news of DeMint’s excessive contributions to everyone’s attention back in January of this year.

So there. Nice to see everything got worked out.

Does that mean he’s still keeps the $45,000 difference? Shouldn’t the fine be greater than the illegal contributions so that the candidate can’t benefit from taking illegal contributions?

Wouldn’t that be cool? No he’s got to return it …

There goes sic(k) willie, again, claiming to have originated something that anyone paying attention was aware of. Claiming credit for work of others.

$25k is chump change to JiminyCricket. Walt Disney said it first:

http://disney.go.com/vault/archives/characters/jiminy/jiminy.html

“Jiminy may be small, but he’s far from your average cricket. He can turn an umbrella into a parachute and looks great in a top hat and spats, and he carries a mean tune, as well as a nearly inexhaustible supply of home-brewed common sense. It’s no wonder he is chosen by the Blue Fairy to be Pinocchio’s “official” conscience. Unfortunately for Jiminy, it’s only after he blushingly agrees to his appointment as “Lord High Keeper of the Knowledge of Right and Wrong, Counselor in Moments of Temptation, and Guide along the Straight and Narrow Path,” that he realizes what a job he’s gotten himself into. Like any conscience, Jiminy is occasionally late on the job, and frequently ignored even when he is around. Fortunately, Jiminy is nothing if not persistent, and he eventually succeeds in steering Pinocchio back to the right path.”

Keep in mind Pinocchio’s nose grows. How much was that fine?

DeMint is depriving a villiage somewhere of an idiot.

sic(k) willie, there’s so much we could do with “Jiminy” that our staff would like to turn it over to you. We don’t have the time. Give the link and the concept to your blog pimps and let them post away.

You sure need the help. Your porn blog is dragging, bad.

BIN News will give you all credit for any future Jiminy Cricket jokes.

The real Jiminy D’Cricket will be responsible for his own Congressional Jokes.

How much was his fine? Only $25k?

BIN, why is it, sir, that you never have something positive to say? You are, sir, as you in the Present say, a “downer.”

Many of you kool aid drinkers out there love Demint for sure. But he is THE most boring person and uninspiring political figure we have ever had represent us. Does he have any ideas at all? Or, does he achieve rock star status with some of you for opposing everything (most of which I agree with him). He is just empty of thought and purpose.

I raised over 200 thousand dollars for this guy in 2004, introduced him all over my area, when he knew nobody, and I never get any communication from him at all. He also hasn’t made much progress in making friends here since then either.

I put together a chamber of commerce type lunch on for him in 2005 and gave him 3 things to say to win over the crowd. He said everything wrong and pissed off the whole room. I’m sure he handles himself no better in DC.

I am glad he speaks his mind and all, but beyond that he is worthless with a worthless staff behind him. They are pathetic.

rick not quinn – big talker, but you are full of it. If you raised 200k for him, man up and tell us who you are.

No, lets see if the political braintrust between Byars and Sullivan can figure it out. Not! And why are you so sure I’m full of it? Anyway thats beside the point. Demint is a man devoid of intellect and idea. Its easy to say no and vote no, and Im glad that he does it most of the time. But he is never going to lead this nation as a problem solver. He nor his staff have that ability. Lets just see how he does raising money in SC in the next year. It will not be good.

He’s the only one in the kettle so far that I would leave the crib to vote for.

What? You say I’m crazy? You haven’t seen crazy yet.
