Ron, Lou, Largely because the American people won't support a third party in numbers large enough to make a difference. Like all parties they have to grow slowly from the base and thats the problem. We won't support Harry down the street because he divorced cindy sue's third cousin even if she did cheat on him, beat the children and made bad grits. Getting enough people interested in the 3rd party candidate means starting now building for the city, county, and state spots. In 10 years when enough states have enough independents in statewide programs, then you can go national. Anybody here in SC seen or heard anything about the independent parties??? Where's the press releases, news stories calling the kettle to task??? Not happening, in 2012 we'll have yet another lame duck trotted out for show....Everyone wants the brass ring...nobody wants the work and sacrifice necessary to build a statewide/national party to rival the 2 traitorous clowns we have now.

Thanks Lou!
I suppose you're right. That's why we conservatives fought for 15 yrs in SC for term limits to no avail. Professional politicians are almost always a huge part of the problem. I'm not sure where we go from here except probably more deeply into socialism under Barak (what a scary thought), although it's up in the air whether things would have been much different under the liberal open borders advocate John McCain. Why can't we ever have a strengthened and viable third party in America?

Ron, the exceptions you mentioned will turn around and stick a knife in your back just the others you did not name. Trust me, I know all about it. Barrett is no different than the rest of em. Don't let him fool you. And Demint, doesn't not telling the truth about campaign money say it all?

I'm in the first district, and Ole Henry ran as a conservative. Apparently 48% of the electorate knew better. Henry, you're still pushing your luck!

Thousands of South Carolinians are facing layoffs and downsizing, and my congressman, the Honoratble Conservative Congressman Henry Brown along with Joe Wilson and that liberal Republican Bob Inglis from the upstate had the gall to accept a pay raise. They don't deserve one dime of taxpayer money in 2009. The annual deficit is on pace to reach 1 trillion, and the national debt stands at 10 trillion. In addition this Congress has been ethically challenged, with corrpution allegations, convictions and sex scandals. Will, these guys must be drinkin spiked egg nog!! Vote these bums out of office in 2010. They've become part of the problem with the possible exception of G. Barret Jim Demint.
