Sanford Might Want To Avoid Detroit
S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford might want to avoid the city of Detroit for awhile after his recent letter to President George W. Bush regarding the proposed automotive bailout met with a torrent of virulent – at times obscene – criticism.
Sanford told Bush that the bailout would be a “very great mistake,” prompting the Detroit Free Press (a.k.a. “Freep.com”) to write a story on his objections.
What’s interesting isn’t the article, necessarily, it’s the 838 (mostly angry) comments.
“The ‘Big Mistake’ was when Da Gov’s Daddy for got to wear his condom,” wrote one commenter, and believe us, it only got worse from there.
Here are some samples:
“Gov Sanford I would like to lob a couple of shoes at you!”
“Rumor has that Mark Sanford fathered Clay Aiken out of wedlock but its hush, hush down there.”
“South Carolina is a mistake, except for golfing.”
“If this is the way the south feels about the auto loan, then no more relief gifts after a hurricane. It works both ways.”
“I guess the south needs another ass-whipping.”
“So he’s a ‘leading Republican Governor’ huh? No wonder the GOP is in shambles. What an ass clown.”
“South Carolina is a ‘great mistake.’ Wait, let me re-phrase that………any state that starts with SOUTH CAROLINA, NORTH CAROLINA, GEORGIA, FLORIDA, ALABAMA, MISSISSIPPI, or LOUISIANA are all ‘GREAT MISTAKES!!!!’ This Governor can take a flying leap, with his foreign made auto, into a flaming bucket of sh*t!!!”
“Only thing I will do if passing his state is go to the border, take a dump right on the road, then proceed somewhere else.”
“Stanford is an @ss clown backward ignorant inbreed.”
Also, it appears some Free Press readers will no longer be vacationing in our fair state:
“I guess this will force me to make other vacation plans this summer. I had planned on taking the family to a nice resort in South Carolina called Fripp Island in July but there is no way in Hell I’m going to spend one penny in that backward state. If their governor wants to try to impact the Michigan economy – I’ll do my part to negatively impact his.”
“No more trips to Myrtle Beach for my family. I hope others do the same.”
Others hit on Sanford for his ubiquitous tan.
“He must have been in the sun too long.”
And one comment from a pro-union reader was downright threatening …
Red neck why don’t you kiss my norhtern a$$ before I take over the worthless south. You sit and talk until the north gets serious, and trust me if the UAW does fall, I will make sure we fuc* the south over even more, and I’m talking about all UAW workers going crazy.
Of course the governor did get a modicum of love, as a few Free Press readers (those who haven’t killed the majority of their brain cells on cheap beer) noted that’s he’s consistently opposed this sort of government intervention.
Many of you posting on this article should read it again. The South Carolina Governor is against Federal spending in HIS STATE as well as Michigan. He is against the Federal $700 billion bailout of the financial industry. He is consistent in his opposition to Federal spending. If you wish to criticize the state of South Carolina because one of its senators voted against the bailout of the Big 3 have at it.
Anyway, don’t expect Sanford to shop up at a rap-off against Eminem anytime soon!
And it’s good to know that as stupid as South Carolina most assuredly is, Michigan is every bit as retarded as we said it was.

Mr. Sic,
The comment below offends, sir. I demand satisfaction. Do you have any information that identifies the Yankee miscreant who made that cowardly statement? My compliments in advance for your kind consideration.

Michigan…..home of the retards……oh and they suck…..

To all the ignorant UAW workers…..get another job…..in a right to work state…..where we produce goods and services folks want to buy. In fact, since your training probably doesnt extend beyond assembly line work or lugnut duty, get a job at BMW, Honda, or even Mercedes…..all manufactured in the South…..none of which are attempting to “fluff” senators and congressmen for cash.

Leadership is something so sorely lacking that when someone like Sanford speaks up about saving taxpayer dollars and letting the market work –
People cry like babies and say ….
Let the country go bankrupt subsidizing industry after industry as long as it is my industry .
Save us from ourselves . Only the federal government can save my private industry job.
Get a grip on reality
Please grow up and do not depend on the government for your future.
Stop the bailout madness and balance the dam budget.

I hope that 2009 brings us a hurricane 10 times the size of Hugo and wipes your God-forsaken redneck state off the map.

Bad Man-
We played this one pretty much down the middle. Oh well. Stay tuned tomorrow for a special FITS video, as our founding editor Sic Willie consented to be interviewed (on the can, no less) regarding the Dee-troit bailout.
It’s Must See TV, and we commend it to your attention.

Yes, James, this governor does in fact rock. In fact, to use a line from a very nice song that I heard yesterday on my new Transistor Radio yersterday, sung by a fine young duo named Ashford and Simpson, he is solid as a rock, and the thrill is still hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot.

All the people commenting on how backwards SC is please dont come down here! We actually have a Gov. with a backbone. Wow imagine that. Our auto industry (VW,BMW,Mercedes) is doing fine and guess what NO UNIONS. YOU are not worth $50/hr as an assembly line worker. So please stay the he$$ away from the South. Keep your high taxes, your rude ass people, your cold and your attitudes up there. Keep messing with us and see what it may bring. the SOUTH will not allow all the BANKRUPT liberal cities to tell us how to run our State. If you try you may find out how much or beloved South means to us.
