No Strikey Strikey Says Tom Hanks

The Screen Actors Guild will not go on strike again, at least not if Tom Hanks and several of his A-list Hollywood buddies have anything to do with it.

Hanks joined more than 130 Hollywood actors (including Charlize Theron) in opposing strike authorization for their union on the grounds that it would create additional economic hardship … wait, Charlize Theron?

That’s the end of the debate as far as we’re concerned, but here’s what the SAG president had to say in favor of the strike courtesy of Hollywood.com:

In a terrible economy like this, it’s our responsibility to make sure our members aren’t thrown under the bus; that we’re not sacrificing disproportionately while the corporations set themselves up with billions of dollars in new media.

Yeah, yeah. Workers of the world, unite! We get it. Still nothing you’ve said beats Charlize Theron.

Also relevant to our interests, when did Tom Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson get so racktackular?

Because it’s starting to look like we’re going to have to pick up that Momma Mia DVD this holiday season after all …
