For whatever reason, the marketplace of ideas has chosen to place a premium on what we have to say here at FITS. It’s a responsibility we take very seriously … except not really. Sleeping and refraining from exercise, on the other hand, are two things we’re incredibly serious about.
Yet as our popularity continues to grow like a “fungus among us,” err, among you … those whom the marketplace has decided to ignore are growing increasingly bitter and singling us out for doing what everyone else is doing … i.e. not paying them any attention.
Anyway, from the latest itching inferiority complex to gripe about its own self-perpetuating irrelevance:
The big Alpha Dog conservative blogs, who take pride in ignoring anyone they consider beneath them or putting fatwahs on people they consider threatening to them, haven’t so far taken the bait. Football, inside ball at the legislature and big boobs are what move traffic their way, and traffic seems to be all that counts.
Fatwas? Huh? Oh wait … never mind, that was somebody else.
Of course what Mr. (or Mrs.) Irrelevant obviously doesn’t understand is that we happen to like football and big boobs around here. Particularly when those two worlds collide.
In fact, whenever that happens, we like to close the door and quietly hum INXS’ “Never Tear Us Apart” to ourselves. Again, with the door closed.
And bait? What bait?
Seriously, we must have missed that gaggle of naked women you sent over to our founding editor’s office with your website’s domain name painted across their chests.
Look dude, we’ll make you a deal. We’ll agree to “take the bait” if you agree to stop being such a stalker-in-training and actually write something clever, interesting or newsworthy one of these days.
Until then, stop bitching at us. Oh, and quit linking to us forty times a day. There’s got to be something unhealthy about that.

OMG you’re actually going to think and write about “the least of these” in our society and especially our state? I can’t wait to hear what your solutions are to pervasive poverty in our state as it relates to those who are homeless, mentally ill, education, and the extreme lack of diversity — this should be rich (pun intended).

Will,
It’s great that you encourage a shrinking of government so that the wealthy will hopefully feel generous towards the disadvantaged and that those teetering on the verge of collapse will become economic wizzes and realize that keeping up with the Jones’ is not how you get ahead in life, but I think Waldo’s asking, what do you do personally? What do you do to encourage your readers who may fall in either of those categories above – either wealthy or teetering, to give back and assist? To preserve and protect?
Those 95 theses are great, and I agree with them, but they don’t answer the very human question about the nature of giving and greed and what one should do – and in the spirit of this time of year, one should want to do to encourage a a sense of community and sharing.
Does one have to get Mrs. Sic Willie to nag you before you deign the world with a little human-ness? And as for the 1990′s talking points remark, come on Will — the needs of those who are disadvantaged are transcendent of politics or time period, what a cheap shrug off.
