Christmas Comes Early For Bureaucrats
In typical South Carolina fashion, employees at one of our state’s most ineffective agencies are getting big year-end bonuses … in spite of their poor performance and a deteriorating revenue situation.
Despite a record of evading responsibility and refusing to enforce state ethics law, multiple employees at the S.C. Ethics Commission have received year-end bonuses of more than $1,000 per person, sources tell FITS.
We’re still waiting on specific information, but we do know that one employee – Commission attorney and spokeswoman Cathy Hazelwood – is said to have received a bonus of $3,000, while at least seven of her colleagues got bonuses of $1,000 or more.
No clue why they felt this was the appropriate time to get the Christmas shopping hook-up, but oh well.
Now if only we could just get these bureaucrats to do their friggin’ jobs instead of consistently kow-towing to the state’s educrat-industrial complex.

I had some dealings with this commission and can honestly say they do very little to improve the ethics in our state.
They kowtow to the powerful interests . Maybe that is how they now get rewarded- by looking the other way .

With cities, counties and states running to Congress for bail-out money we’re giving people bonuses? They should just be happy to have jobs and that money should go into programs that need it…

If the laziest woman in government, at the worst agency in government, is getting $3000 as a bonus…how much are the good people getting.
I mean…how much for those that actualy work and get something done?

We always point out that is a line from a great SNL sketch that always makes sic(k) willie grind his teeth. Sorry it hits home, sic(k) one.
The staff at the Ethic’s Commission actually does a magnificent job in light of the mandate and limits placed on them by our Legislature.
And our public education system does an equally magnificent job in light of the fact their standard is “minimally adequate.”
Stupid willie, don’t shoot the mules for hitting stumps. They do a great job based on strings their masters pull. Go after the Legislature and Howie.
You know, Howie and SCRG. And, the Republicrat dominated Legislature!
