Gossip Girl

Devastated by the end of the Top Model season and the upcoming conclusion of The Hills, the FITS girls needed a new source of bitchy programming.

So when our founding editor left us at the office unsupervised over the holiday weekend, we wiled away the time by getting hooked on Gossip Girl.

So addictive is the show that we packed in the entire first season – like 16 episodes! – into two days.

Gossip Girl is based on a book series by the same name - not that we read any chic lit around here since watching it is way more fun.

The show stars Blake Lively, a total sparkler and the sole reason that Sic might keep letting us watch the second season today. Lively is not, as might be imagined, the “gossip girl” – that honor goes to the anonymous narrator of the show who posts online about Upper East Side drama and who is herself a Manhattan socialite.

She’s not unlike us, actually, except that Columbia is less glam and more grit. And the show’s characters - gossip girl’s enraptured audience - are not unlike all of you.

Maybe, then, you’ll enjoy it as much as we do. We give you fair warning: If you click this link to an episode excerpt, expect to be sucked in.

You have been warned.

You love it, right?
