“Dat Boy” Swinney New Tigers Head Coach
You can get rid of that pesky “interim” tag.
After a remarkable six-game stretch that included a pummeling of Steve Spurrier’s allegedly superior South Carolina team, Dabo Swinney will be named Clemson University’s new head football coach tomorrow, according to the website Rivals.com.
From the story:
Less than 24 hours after Clemson defeated arch-rival South Carolina 31-14 in Death Valley, Tiger athletics director Terry Don Phillips wasted no time in meeting with 39-year old Dabo Swinney and Swinney’s agent. As a result of those talks, which began in the mid-afternoon hours and extended into the evening, the interim tag will soon be removed from Swinney’s title.
Good for Swinney … as we noted yesterday, he totally earned this opportunity.
Ironically, the selection of a young coach like Swinney is one of several recommendations we made for South Carolina’s struggling football program at the conclusion of last year’s disappointing 6-6 season.
Obviously, it’s too early to tell how wise a decision this will be for Clemson in the long-run, but one thing is for sure … Dabo definitely outcoached Spurrier in Saturday’s game.

Pretty funny you used to write “CLEMPSON”…. well now that an assistant coach can beat Stevie….. Pretty sad…..
Carolina had to invest in a has been coach that has not produced anything since he has been here…..
Your headlines… “Another Fourth Quarter Colapse” they were never in the lead at any period of time.
For a predicted 1-point spread that ended up being a 17-point defeat….
