This is why you can’t negotiate with terrorists.
Or try to accommodate them. Or appease them. Or ever expect them to change. Or, for that matter, bother worrying about their “civil rights” after they’ve been caught.
The only thing you do with terrorists is find out where they are and blow them (and anybody who funds and harbors them) off the face of the earth.
Screw “proportionate responses,” people. These are animals who want nothing but blood – preferably American blood – on the floor. And they should be liquidated, not listened to or leveraged for political advantage.
Last night’s multiple attacks in Mumbai, India specifically targeted Americans and Britons, but thus far the dead have been mostly Indians – 125 in all.
Battles are still raging between Indian special forces and Islamic Jihadists, who are fighting “room-to-room” in the city after the attacks were sprung at 10:00 p.m. Mumbai time last night.
So expect more casualties as yet another nation falls victim to the brutal essence of Jihad … and, as usual, expect the outgoing administration’s failed War on Terror and the incoming administration’s flower power brigade to both “closely monitor the situation.”

Will, you are right on track on this one and anyone who thinks that we will be pulling out of the Middle East or any other area of the world that is part of the WWWOA (World Wide War on America) is naive.
Is it any wonder that President Elect Obama is back peddling on his promise to ‘bring the troops home’ and keep Gates on as his Secretary of Defense and now he proposes a ‘surge’ to Afghanistan which happens to be next to Pakistan which provided the terrorists that hit MUMBAI, India next door to Pakistan?
This ‘war’ is not something that can be solved by “monitoring’ the situation. This situation calls for swift, constant and continuous aggressive action, and we can’t blink first. We have to convince the other side and the ‘non-combatants’ in those regions that we are in this for the long haul – and convince them that we are not ‘cut and run’ allies that will leave them holding the bag.
As an officer assigned to a unit in the United States Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (USACAPOC) – which is responsible for overseeing two lesser known areas of Special Operations; I am very familiar with operations in this theater.
We are in a war of ideology. For example, just look at the history of the war between the French and the Algerian Jihadists (1954-1962 and on to the present) to get an understanding of what is going on today from China, to Chechnya, to Indonesia, to the Philippians, back to India, into Saudi Arabia, south to Nigeria and about 50 other places not on your typical list of vacation spots. Even after the French finally withdrew, [read: exit strategy] that war in Algeria is continuing today between the Jihadists and everyone who isn’t.
There are lot of people that agree with the likes of Bin Laden and terrorists inc. members and they live all over the world – millions of them – and surprisingly they are of all races and colors.
As Americans we are impatient people and expect rational logic on the part of our leaders and our enemies. Right now we are not getting it from either. If Obama keeps pace with his ‘flower power’ base, we are in for a really rough four years. Doesn’t anyone find it more then coincidental that no sooner does Obama get elected that all hell breaks loose in Bombai/Mumbai? Make no mistake, the Jihadists are testing us and trying to find Obama’s center of gravity for the WWWOA.
Mumbai? Penn Station? These Jihadists are thinkers and not light weights. They are sophisticated, educated, and calculating and they have a program and they really believe in what they are doing, just as strongly as we do.
The Jihadists are willing to die for their objectives and they are willing to kill in the name of…
This is what we are up against.

Good Allah! You’re a 40ty’ish Reserve Lieutenant who’s “combatnot” experience is as a “journalist.” A journalist! Still writing stories!
