You “smart people”, as you probably think you are, need to do a little research. I will have you to know that this redneck was a straight A student and graduated high school in three years with 18 college credit hours (I had to do my entire senior years course work in ten weeks) and am now an excelling college student. I LOVE country music and have an IQ of 131 at the age of 17. I really take offense to ignorant people like you Will. You really should educate yourself next time before you make biggotist comments like that, not only making an attack on a few of the best country artists in history but those of us who enjoy things like country music! STOP BEING AN ID10T!!!

Wrong on this one, Willie: Great country music out there, from George and many, many others. Not my first choice either, but there is great country music from years gone by (Patty Loveless) and today (Jamey Johnson). And many, many other talented artists in between.

Will, I always love your writing and know that much of it is tongue-in-cheek, so as an educated redneck I certainly take no offense at what you wrote. Just so you and anyone else who reads this will know, George Strait has more #1 hits than anyone else in history in any genre.

Hey “fits”, I like country music and George Strait and I can read – surprise!!! I just read your comments and, while you’re really not worth it, thought I’d write and set the record, ahem, strait. Of course it’s your right not to “like” country music, but if you’re going to comment on an artist who’s sold more than 70 million albums and had more than 50 #1 singles and been consistent in a career spanning 3 decades, you should at least familiarize yourself with a legend instead of ridiculing someone who’s admired, respected and looked up to by not only his fans but by all the other artists in attendance at the CMAs last night. When I was a child my mother told me that if you have “nothing nice to say, say nothing”. That’s a lesson you need to learn yourself!!!

Will, I’m more or less with you on modern-day pop-country. But you’re a knowledgeable music fan….surely, you’ve got a taste for Hank Wiliams, for a little Lefty Frizell or Webb Pierce, maybe some classic Waylon Jennings or Merle Haggard music.
