Tennessee Wants Davis

The University of Tennessee wants North Carolina head coach Butch Davis on its sidelines next season, although there’s no indication that the feeling is mutual.

Davis – who has guided the historically-awful Tarheels back into the national spotlight this season with 7-2 record and Top 20 ranking – is atop the Volunteers wish list, sources close to the University say.

But Davis – who claims to be “very happy” at North Carolina, has previously turned down offers to coach in the Southeastern Conference, specifically rejecting overtures from Arkansas last season.

You can read up on Davis’ resume over at GoVolsExtra.com, where speculation concerning who might be UT’s next coach is obviously more fun for fans to discuss than the Volunteers 13-7 loss to Wyoming on Saturday.

Or the 27-6 ass-whooping South Carolina laid on them the previous week …

Actually when you look at the record UNC has not been historically awful, its only been the past couple of years where UNC has really sucked. Now USC, THATS historically awful.
