Oh Kome, Oh Kome Emanuel
Yesterday’s announcement that liberal fire-eater Rahm Emanuel would head up President-elect Barack Obama’s administration was greeted with contempt by most Republicans, who rightly view the selection of such a divisive partisan to such a key post as evidence that Obama isn’t serious about change.
To which we can only say, “What is ya, idgets?”
Of course Obama isn’t serious about change – he never has been.
Obama was serious about getting elected, people, and the notion of “change” played pretty well given the failure of Republicans to adopt pro-growth, pro-taxpayer positions under the administration of George W. Bush (and the Senate leadership of porkers like Alaska’s Ted Stevens).
Gov. Mark Sanford eloquently summed up the thoughts of most conservatives when he went on the radio yesterday and called Emanuel an “intensely partisan” and ” politics as usual” selection.
But there was one prominent “Republican” in Washington who gave Emanuel’s ascension two enthusiastic thumbs up – Senator Lindsey Graham.
In a press release sent out by Graham’s office yesterday, South Carolina’s newly re-elected Senior Senator called Emanuel’s selection “a wise choice by President-elect Obama.”
“Rahm understands the challenges facing our nation and will, consistent with the agenda set by President-elect Obama, work to find common ground where it exists,” Graham said in his statement. “I look forward to working with him in his new position and will continue to do everything I can to help find a pathway forward on the difficult problems facing our nation.”
Ordinarily, we’d make a reference to the performance of fellatio in analyzing this quote, but we understand that may be a sensitive subject.
And besides, we’re really, really (really) trying to clean up our act around here.
So we’ll avoid the term “suck-up” and go with “sellout” instead.
Oh, and we won’t be discussing how Graham consistently “bends over” for the Democrats, either.
What can we say … we’re benevolent.
UPDATE – Here’s some more info on Sen. Graham’s new … wait … we probably shouldn’t use the term “butt buddy,” should we?

I am sure that President-Elect Obama’s new Chief of Staff is going to fix the sub-prime mortgage crisis since he was a board member when Freddie Mac was propping up bad home loans, propping up political campaigns, and creating scandal.
NOT!

Looks like Clinton got his wish – a third term – Same players but the seats have changed. I would have hoped Obama would have selected people that were not DC insiders.. RE was the first of many previous “Clintonites” – there will be more.

It was a sad day to see the seat once held by Strom remain in such dainty hands.
Truth be told, his constitients love the socialism lindsey offers: Medicare Part D, Tricare for Life for Everyone, Amnesty (just wait till the new Amnesty bill flies through in January 2009), Bailout for Banks, and coming soon to theaters everywhere: Bailiout for Car Makers and their unions.
Makes one wonder if being a “RED” state means being communist?

I think RED does mean communist here in SC. Two words say it: Control Freaks.

John McCain’s failed candidacy brings Ann Coulter’s political roulette full circle:
Republicans have become Democrats.
Democrats have become Socialists.
Socialists have become Communists.
…
Communists have become “Republicans.”
Brilliant.
