Democrat Barack Obama won the presidency of the United States a night earlier than expected, at least if you subscribe to the so-called “Redskins Rule,” which has accurately predicted the winner of the U.S. presidential election 16 out of the last 17 times.

We explained the “Redskins Rule” yesterday, which holds that the fate of the incumbent party in Washington depends on the Redskins performance in their final home game before Election Day.

If the Skins’ win – the incumbent party is safe. If they lose, it’s time to welcome a new party to the White House.

Yeah … Washington got shellacked last night by Pittsburgh 23-6.
