Barack Obama strolled into his polling place at Beulah Shoesmith Elementary School on the South Side of Chicago just thirty minutes after his most controversial friend – former domestic terrorist Bill Ayers – had finished voting and left the school.
Whew … that was close!
Thanks to Obama’s careful timing, Democrats narrowly avoided what would have certainly been one of the most awkward photo ops of all time, as Obama has repeatedly sought to distance himself from his friend and former mentor throughout the campaign.
Anyway, it’s doubtful an Obama-Ayers run-in on election day would have had that much of an impact on tonight’s results, but you better believe that the Democratic nominee’s advisors weren’t about to let that happen.

Willie, the Washington Post has a photo of Sarah Palin voting in Alaska. In blue jeans!!! Can you believe it? I hope they are her own. And they came from Sears.
