Danny Ford is the only choice. Give five good years rebuild the program. Then like Nebraska Osborne take over athletic area of football especially and get a new coach of his choosing.

Cower is out, though should be at least pursued. Bobby Johnson, should at least be interviewed. God, I hope the administration doesn’t screw up an hire Skip Holts. Building Conn. and EC is one thing, running a serious program is another, and he has proven through his experience with the Shamecocks he cannot hack it. Muschamp would be a good fit, and may very well come to Clemson (spelled C-L-E-M-S-O-N). But Clemson’s defense has not been the sore spot since Dantzler graduated.

It has been the offense. A few names I am not hearing are Chris Peterson from Boise State, or Mike Leach from Texas Tech. Either one of these guys would be great for the program.

The moral of the story is there are too many coaches out there to make speculation on which one will be hired. I just hope to God, Clemson’s (spelled C-L-E-M-S-O-N-’S)administration doesn’t hire another mediocre coach like the ones we have had in the past.

Skip is definitely on the list. Just ask anyone in the upper administration, or anyone on the Board. As far as “Clemson made the mistake already of taking a former South Carolina coach (Brad Scott),” seriously? Is that how you analyze things?
Duce Staley said he had talked to Cowher, and after laughing, Cowher said he had no interest in coaching at Clemson. The way the Wolfpack keep playing, I’m sure we’ll see him at his alma mater before too long.
Leaving Texas to become Clemson’s head coach is a step down… even if you’re a defensive coordinator. Texas is probably going to work out some Jimbo Fisher/Bobby Bowden type deal, where Muschamp just takes over the program when Brown leaves.
Skip Holtz has proved he can turn a program around, heck he can even build a program. He built Connecticut’s program. He was instrumental in turning Carolina’s around in 2000. Now, he has taken the doormat of North Carolina football (believe it or not), and made them a ConferenceUSA contender… they even beat WVU and Virginia Tech this year. So, yeah, they didn’t live up to the early hype… then again, when is the last time Clemson did?
