Greenville (S.C.) County Councilman Tony Trout has been indicted on five counts of unlawfully accessing computers and destroying records, and could face up to 36 years in prison and $1.1 million in fines.

Also, as of this morning Trout has been suspended by S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford from his position, a decision which will be made official with the release of an executive order later today from the Governor’s Office.

Trout, who had just two months left to go on his term anyway, is legendary in Greenville political circles for loving drama almost as much as he loves unhealthy foods and not exercising.

He also likes to accuse cops of lying and stealing, which we have no doubt will earn him a lot of love during his trial.

Also, Trout fired his lawyer recently and appears to be moving toward representing himself in court, which given his history of odd behavior should ensure that the crazy headlines won’t stop with this guy until they put him away.
