It’s Raining Spokespeople
It was nice to see La Socialista actually do its job the other day (for a change) and run with our scoop from last week about the latest South Carolina school teacher to be accused of sexual misconduct with students.
Of course they didn’t show us any love for breaking the story, and they failed to report on some of the most relevant facts of the case (you have to read our story to get those), but hey … it’s a start.
What we found interesting, though, was that the school district embroiled in this mess needed two spokespersons to handle the story - both of whom succeeded in not telling La Socialista a whole helluva lot about what was going on.
Anyway, from the slow media, here was the statement from educrat spokesperson No. 1:
“An investigation is under way into allegations that the teacher had inappropriate communications with a student,” said Michelle Foster, a district spokeswoman.
Hmmm … according to our sources, there’s more than one student involved in this situation and there’s a lot more than “inappropriate communication” that’s been alleged, but whatever … here’s the statement educrat spokesperson No. 2:
“Because this is a matter that’s under investigation, and we have just begun that investigation, we really cannot comment any further,” said Buddy Price, another district spokesman.
Wow. We’ve got excuses in stereo, people.
Look, if Lexington-Richland School District Five wants to dole out two scoops of bullsh*t to the students and parents demanding answers in this unfortunate situation, the very least it could do is not force them to pick up the tab for two different “scoopers.”
Of course, when it comes out that officials at Dutch Fork High School were warned over a year ago about similar accusations made against social studies teacher Jeffrey Browder (accusations which were promptly swept under the rug by the school’s administration), well, let’s just say they may ending up getting their money’s worth out of those two spokespeople after all.
That’s right, folks … FITS spoke with a former district employee over the weekend who advised us that “multiple complaints” were made concerning Browder’s inappropriate relationships with female students, and that Dutch Fork High School officials not only failed to investigate those complaints, but failed to document that they had even been made.
Stay tuned … there’s a lot more coming on this story.

Note to school district:
Flush the info. Put it all in the public. One a leak starts, they rarley ever stop. The longer you hold out, the worse it looks.
Admit it all…and move on. It is easier on everybody this way.
You guys usually pay lots of money for crap advise. This suggestion is free.

I want to know what Major J.Allard of Lexington County Sheriffs Department says. This is not a school district problem this appears to me to be a law enforcement issue.
Usually I am all for restraint of police power but if this guy is guilty I hope he gets real agitated and mouthy when Metts’ boys in blue show up. Hopefully at least half of a measure justice can be delivered at the time of arrest.
The correct statement from the district should have been “Crimes have been alleged. We have taken steps to protect the students in our charge. Law enforcement has been notified and the district is doing everything it can to assist the Sheriffs Department in its investigation”

The school board must be following the Catholic’s “How to Conduct Sexual Harrassment Investiagations” manual.
Anyone in the District that votes for ANY incumbent on that pathetic school board needs to have their head examined.

GEEEZZZ, What is wrong with this school district? Is it infectious? Either A) there is NO moral guidance or B) These people just love a good controversy. Here come the “no crowd comments”. Wait and see. They will tie this allegation to taxes and buildings, somehow. This is sad, very very sad. What is wrong with this district that these things keep occurring?

Rex Calls for Tougher Legislation on Sexual Misconduct
Columbia (WLTX, AP) — South Carolina’s State Superintendent of Education is calling on lawmakers to enact tougher penalties on those found guilty of sexually abusing students in schools.
Superintendent Jim Rex says the measure would prove to be more preventative than current penalties, but also would show that South Carolina has no tolerance for such crimes.
Jim Rex said Monday such cases represent a tiny fraction of the state’s teachers, but even one example is an outrage.
Rex has advocated measures to prevent and punish cases of students abused by adults since last fall, following a nationwide Associated Press investigation.
Legislation proposed earlier this year failed as the session ended without House and Senate members agreeing between their different versions. A bill must be reintroduced when the Legislature returns in January.
Rex said the Legislature should make it a top priority for 2009.

Did you see SNL with Palin? Funny. We must take her seriously since she can see Russia from Alaska. Like we take Sanfraud seriously. He can (almost) see Georgia from his plantation if he stands in his kids’ tree house.
And we love the old SNL line, will folks, “…you ignorant slut!”
There was a time when sic(k) willie was focused on the generic rape of public education. You know? Voucher scams. We all know Howie and his carpetbuggers like sic(k) willie have been buying the State House -one Legislator at a time.
But recently sic(k) willie has turned his attacks on a few local districts.
This one is no surprise since he has bragged in the past about working against this district to help someone he once described as “some old guy in Chapin.”
But it’s good to see the sic(k) one staying true to his Inquirer mentality. You know. Ignore the rights of the accused. “Guilty until proven innocent!”
We are just surprised that sic(k) willie has not posted children’s names.
And to the author of posts attributed to “greg,” “male,” “james,” and “david” - come on “dude.” Get creative. At least do a better job trying to make us think there is more that one of you. Even “some old guy” could do better.

P.S. The BIN News investigative staff is looking into sic(k) willie’s attack on Barnwell 19. The issue he raised is being addressed by their School Board, and our local reporters are confident this is a non-issue. The sic(k) one just blindly pick this one up from a carpetbugger buddy at Voice for School Scams.
