A Day At The Fair

While the FITS gals all have allergic reactions at the mere thought of consorting with the unwashed masses, our founding editor can’t seem to get enough of them.

Perhaps its because he’s such an unwashed mass himself.

Anyway, Sic Willie, Mrs. Sic and their adorable four-year-old “Shorty” hit the S.C. State Fair yesterday afternoon for a day of family fun with thousands of good ole’ South Cack-i-lackians.

There were corn dogs, elephant ears, bumper car rides, dragon roller coasters, sea lions, chickens, sand sculptures and, lest we forget, one unsuspecting fair employee with a wall of stuffed animals behind him who obviously didn’t recognize pure athletic ability when he saw it.

After handing Sic Willie three basketballs for $5, our founding editor proceeded to nail a twenty-foot jumper on his second shot to earn Shorty his newest (and largest) stuffed animal, a black-and-brown pup who was immediately christened “Puppy Snutchy.”

A quick word to the wise, though … if you’re going to the fair before it closes on Sunday, avoid the donkey in the children’s petting zoo at all costs.

That fothermucker bites, people … which Shorty lamentably found out the hard way, cutting short our trip and forcing Sic to abandon his plans to get a photograph of himself milking one of Clemson University’s prize-winning heifers.
