USC-Salkahatchie and USC-Union are not worthless schools. They enable folks in small towns who cannot otherwise attend college to get an education, and it allows students to take their first and possibly second year courses wihtout all the expense of going to the main campus in Columbia. Clemson, on the other hand, immediately cut out the graduate teaching assistant cost of living additional pay as soon as news of the budget cuts came out. And now there's discussion of reducing the salaries of graduate teaching assistants by over half in the middle of the school year while still expecting them to do the same amount of work. I personally think a portion of athletics budget should be used to make up for the budget cuts to support education instead of paying off a contract to a coach who quit, because there would be no athletics without students.

I'm still shocked they buckled under pressure from Sanford and are coming back.

They'll screw things up even worse, though. On the bright side, maybe the timing will motivate voters to make some changes when they go to the polls in a few weeks...
