Confirming reports we received last week, the clerk of the S.C. House of Representatives has officially summoned state lawmakers back to Columbia this coming Monday to deal with South Carolina’s rapidly deteriorating revenue situation.
Given that the revenue shortfall we’re facing is entirely of the General Assembly’s own making, we’ll be keeping close tabs on how many Representatives decide to refuse their reimbursements for this emergency session – as well as how many “baby gates” will have to be ordered to confine various egos in this latest installment of taxpayer-funded adult day care.
Sources we spoke with say the emergency session could last as long as two weeks, which will mean average temperatures in the Columbia Metropolitan Area should jump by several degrees owing to all the hot air emanating from the State House.
Wait, did we just cover weather? Jeez … sorry about that.
Speaking of the State House itself, we’ve got a pool going as to which one of our state’s mouth-breathin’, knuckle-draggin’ lawmakers will be the first to pitch a hissy fit over the building’s new security measures, which require lawmakers to bring special identification cards with them anytime they enter the building.
Our money is on this turd blossom forgetting his badge and having a tantrum, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Anyway, count on FITS to bring you the inside scoop from the cutting room floor as lawmakers attempt to deal with the monumental pooch screw they’ve inflicted on our state.

We’re screwed again, anytime these clowns need to meet for more than ten minutes is bad news for the taxpayer…..viva the election, vote all the incumbants out.

agreed that spending has been way to high, but most of that was one-time money. Sanford’s executive budget was $60 million more than the legislature’s. Does that mean for the next two weeks that he should give up the mansion and his state car sine he causedd this crisis by overspending?

Nothing good can come from their returning to Columbia. If they hadn’t screwed up the tax code, it wouldn’t be necessary. Knowing what I know, I just feel sorry for this state.

ONE TIME MONEY???
You f’d up cross-eyed mouth-breathin’ moron.
We didn’t getinto the situation we’re in with freakin’ “one time” money.
What are you going to say in January when your beloved knuckle-draggers have to make the THIRD round of “mid-year” cuts?
Get your nose out of Jake’s ass and get yourself some oxygen.
