“EXCLUSIVE” - Palmetto Scooped
Ordinarily, the FITS gals derive no pleasure from hurling lightning bolts down at fellow bloggers from our Zeus-like perch atop all S.C. new media, but this time we couldn’t resist.
In case you missed it, the Palmetto Scoop - a.k.a. Richard Quinn & Associates - published a huge “exclusive” story yesterday - one that dealt with a letter written by S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford back in May to President George W. Bush regarding our state’s offshore reefs.
Just so there was no confusion as to how “exclusive” this story was, the Scoop took special care to spell EXCLUSIVE in all capital letters, and its editor McLovin‘ even designed a nifty graphic to go along with his big scoop.
With rapt anticipation we savored every last morsel of the article, which contained excerpts from Sanford’s May 21 missive to Bush, a letter that was … wait for it … “obtained exclusively by The Palmetto Scoop.”
Needless to say, we were quite impressed.
Well … at least until we discovered that Sanford’s letter had already been “obtained exclusively” by the Associated Press, the Charleston Post and Courier and the Hilton Head Island Packet … five months ago.
You can click here, here and here for those stories, all of which specifically reference the Scoop’s “exclusively obtained” letter, five months before the Scoop “exclusively obtained” it.
So yeah … if by “EXCLUSIVE,” The Scoop meant they reported on something that was reported on five months ago by multiple mainstream media outlets, then yes, they got their hands on a real “exclusive” yesterday.
Perhaps McLovin & Co. should do themselves a favor and stick to what they’re good at - outing gay tourism ads and blowing Lindsey Graham.
Who knows? Maybe they could even kill two birds with one stone.

Palmetto Scoop is absolutely the worst blog in South Carolina. They keep McLovin around solely to pimp Quinns’ big government/neo-con clients like Lindsey Graham and Henry McMaster. The guy couldn’t argue his way out of a paper sack.
The nation and state are attempting to turn the page on the Bush/Cheney/Rove/Atwater generation but these guys won’t guy down without a fight. I’m not arguing for Obama- just suggesting we’ve seen how badly a bunch of intellectual lightweights like the Quinns’ clients can mess something up. As conservatives, we can do better.

I wonder if Britney Spears has any workout DVDs in the works that incorporate moves such as “Pushing Away From The Table?” McLovin’ and many of us could stand to learn that one!

To grahams litlle pony: Listen up. if you are a Democrat then we dont care what you think. If you are not a Dem and not a client then we still dont care what you think. Go take care of your own client base or do you not have one. Poor thing, then leave politics as a hobby and get a real job suited for your talents, like truckdriving.

Seeing as how the pooper-scoopers are “challenged” when it comes to reading comprehension and it did contain bunches of words with more than one syllable maybe it took them the last 5 months to read the letter?
