Naughty Left-Wing Nuts
American taxpayers picking up the tab to fraudulently register masses of Barack Obama voters in advance of the upcoming November election, a “systematic corruption” that centers around a group called ACORN - or the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
ACORN - whose activists have been trained by Obama in the past - has been scouring the country for Democratic votes for months now, registering felons, dead people and non-existent people using all sorts of questionable methods including forgeries and fake or duplicate applications.
Along with Project Vote, another left-wing grassroots mobilization outfit with extensive connections to Obama, ACORN has specifically targeted low-income and minority voters in battleground states like Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
They’ve registered millions of new voters, but they’re also currently under investigation in ten states.
In fact, here’s a recap of some of the group’s questionable activities:
– Lake County, Ind., election officials this month rejected a large portion of the 5,000 registration forms ACORN turned in after conducting registration drives in the area all summer. Some vote canvassers had pulled names and addresses from telephone books and forged signatures. According to local reports, “large numbers of voter registration forms bore signatures all in the same apparent handwriting style” and “apparently the organization’s canvassers broke rules to meet ACORN-set voter registration quotas to get paid.” The fake registrants included dead people and underage kids.
On a conference call yesterday, GOP officials noted that up to 11,000 voter applications were no good — tying up election officials and jeopardizing the voting rights of untold victims whose identities may have been stolen.
– Last month, Milwaukee, Wis., officials discovered at least seven felons employed as voter registration workers for ACORN and another affiliated group. They also uncovered a raft of problematic voter registration cards. The state GOP accused ACORN of attempting to enroll dead, imprisoned or imaginary people to voter rolls. Fraud has plagued ACORN’s Milwaukee chapter since the last election cycle.
– In Florida, in Orange County alone, ACORN workers turned in multiple copycat forms for six separate voters over the summer. According to the Miami Herald, “One individual had 21 duplicate applications.”
Election officials had flagged ACORN’s negligent practices several months ago, but it may be too late: In Orange, Broward and Miami-Dade counties, ACORN has signed up 135,000 new voters, nearly 60 percent of them registered as Democrats that constitute a fifth of all new voters in that region.
– In Ohio, large numbers of homeless people received free van and bus rides to register. Shelby Holliday, a reporter for Palestra.net, filmed ACORN shuttling prospects to the polls. She told me she spoke with one homeless woman who told her ACORN “told her who to vote for if she wanted a ‘better life,’ and told her not to worry about jury duty (one of the reasons this homeless woman didn’t want to register) because the government probably wouldn’t be able to track her down. She was registering with a temporary address.”
Holliday interviewed another homeless man targeted by the registration drive who exulted that he was voting for Obama because “I want him to do his thang. You know, do his thug thizzle.”
Additionally, ACORN’s offices in Las Vegas were raided by federal agents on Tuesday after workers there were attempting to register imaginary voters by using names lifted from current and former Dallas Cowboys’ rosters.

Nevada authorities seized records Tuesday from a group they accused of submitting fraudulent voter-registration forms — including for the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys.
“Tony Romo is not registered to vote in the state of Nevada, and anybody trying to pose as Terrell Owens won’t be able to cast a ballot on Nov. 4,” said Secretary of State Ross Miller, referring to star players on the pro football team.
State authorities raided the headquarters of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a group that works to register low-income people.
Miller said the raid was part of a monthslong investigation, and he contended the group had submitted registration forms that used false information or duplicated information on multiple forms. He did not estimate how many.
In case you were wondering who’s paying for all this, well … you are. ACORN gets 40% of its funding from the taxpayers, the rest from liberal heavyweights like George Soros.

The people running ACORN are stupid and ignorant. They did not learn from President Cheney and Vice President Bush that if someone wants an election to be rigged, just do what the Neo-Con servants id in Florida. Volunteer for the local election committee, and throw out the mail in ballots of the Democrats. Don’t worry! The left wingers will file suites in your state. State rights are not important in elections! Just go to the Federal Supreme Court and get those decisions overturned. It is a good that most of the Justices were appointed by Republicans.

ACORN made the mistake of paying “out of work” people to do the work of registering voters and paying them per registration. I’m sure some of the “right Wing” organizations have experienced the same. Greed and stupidity are not exclusivly a republican trait.
But on McCain/Palin……… stick a fork in them! I worked with the SC Progressive Network registering voters along with hundreds of others as a volunteer and we had very strict guidelines in doing so because we wanted each registration to count! We DID IT RIGHT!

It was a good thing that Congress revised the bailout, as bad is it may still be. Version 1.0 had a ton of cash for ACORN, before the House GOP protested. Yes, registering the same guy 17 times might indicate fraud.

The taxpayers have been funding Acorn for years, Hussein cut his teeth with Acorn both defending them in court and teaching them how to beat the system. If the American Taxpayer is stupid enough to buy into this….then they deserve the pain and grief coming our way when Hussein is elected.
Mike, while you may be able to throw out the fraudulent registrations, what do you do about the early votes that were cast? Throwing them out will also throw out valid ballots, thus depriving honest citizens their rights. While I’d be inclined to remove all early ballots cast where fraud has taken place…I don’t see the judicial system having the balls to mandate it for the security of the voting system. To political.
