Must Win
Clempsun head football coach Tommy Bowden faces the biggest game of his life tonight, as sources close to the Farmer football program tell us that a Tiger loss to No. 21 Wake Forest on national television will mean the end of a rocky ten-year relationship between Bowden and the school.
“He’s already got to win out,” a Tiger insider told us, referring to Bowden needing to win the remaining seven games on Clempsun’s schedule and a bowl game to keep his job. “But he’s got to win this to get that chance.”
Bowden began the year with a Top Ten ranking and the most formidable assemblage of athletic talent Clempsun has seen in over a decade.
But then a season-opening drubbing at the hands of Alabama and an embarrassing fourth-quarter collapse against Maryland literally sucked the life out of the program, confirming to many Bowden’s inability to take the program to the next level.
Clempsun kicks off against Wake at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Winston-Salem, N.C. in a game that will be televised nationally by ESPN.
The Farmers own a 56-16-1 series advantage over the Demon Deacons, including a 44-10 pummeling last season.

This is definitely sewious! But if history indeed repeats itself, Bowden may win out and a win the bowl game. He coaches and performs best when he’s about to be fired. Clemson administrators should just tell him at the beginning of every season that if he loses one game, he’s fired. Maybe then, Clemson will return to glory and national prominence. But then again, TB should’ve been gone last year and we could’ve got Rich Rodriguez. Oh well…Maybe the Wonder Pets and their flyboat could come and “save the day.” This would be their song:
Wonder Pets, Wonder Pets
We’re on our way
To help a little Tommy
and save the day
We’re not too big and we’re not too tough
but when we work together we got the right stuff.
Go Wonder PEts! YAYYYYYYY!

Our question to you, Tiger, is simple. Do you like apples?
