Lamentably, due to a host of logistical considerations and a dispute as to what constitutes “stalking” in the state of California, we’re currently unable to finish that headline with the words “By Sic Willie.”
Maggie Gyllenhaal no likey stalkey stalkey, apparently, and word is that the letter a day (including weekends) that our founding editor has written her for the last two years may have been misconstrued by her people as some sort of obsessive behavior. As if.
Anyway, somebody is “tapping” the lovely Ms. Gyllenhaal at the moment, but it’s a battery company – like Duracell. In fact, it is Duracell:
Procter & Gamble hopes to energize its Duracell brand by conducting a nationwide casting call for five young ambassadors to deliver gifts to patients in children’s hospitals this holiday season. The Dark Knight’s Maggie Gyllenhaal is the spokeswoman for the promotion.
The online search runs through Nov. 3 at PowerASmile.com. To enter, parents must submit photos of their child (6-15 years old) excitedly opening or “powering up” a present for the first time. The other requirement is a short story submission describing the “best gift your child ever received and why it made them smile.”
As if all that wasn’t awesome enough, here’s the best part: Winners of the Power A Smile contest will be “invited to visit New York City and meet Gyllenhaal in December.”
Lamentably, since Sic’s shorty is only four years old, we may have to borrow some of y’alls kids for a couple months. Oh, and some batteries, too.
You all trust us, right?

Really? Maggie G? Did you SEE Dark Knight? She has “old face.” It’s vom-inducing on the big screen.
