Immigration Raid In G-Vegas
Three hundred suspected illegal immigrants have been detained after federal agents launched a massive daytime raid on a chicken processing plant in Greenville, S.C. earlier today.
No word yet on how this will impact the fried chicken supply at college football tailgate events this coming weekend, or how long it will take the owner of the facility, Columbia Farms, to round up enough legal, documented workers who are interested in filling these shifts.
Our guess is that with South Carolina’s 7.8% unemployment rate, it shouldn’t take that long.
The raid – which was conducted by federal immigration authorities with support from local law enforcement – has nothing to do with South Carolina’s new immigration law, supposedly the “toughest in the nation.”
Instead, it’s the latest in an effort by federal authorities to begin enforcing America’s existing national laws.
From the AP:
In August, more than 600 suspected illegal immigrants were detained at a Mississippi transformer plant in the largest single-workplace immigration raid in U.S. history. And in May, federal immigration officials swept into Agriprocessors, the nation’s largest kosher meatpacking plant, in Iowa. Nearly 400 workers were detained and dozens of fraudulent permanent resident alien cards were seized from the plant’s human resources department, according to court records.
Stay tuned for more details on this developing story …

One issue that either new president is talking about? There are so many unanswered major problems about the invasion, from education, housing, food stamps, welfare payments, the criminal element and taking American jobs.
What pariah employers of illegal alien hires don’t pay for and YOU taxpayers do?
Why do illegal aliens get free health care, when according to a (AARP) American Association of Retired people report. A legal citizen in Seattle is struggling to pay $10,000 worth of medicine to stay alive. My son who has Autism takes a drug that cost $950.00 a month. A lady I know has bi-polar and other health issues and drugs that costs $6000.00 a limited medical insurance.
Yet illegal aliens can walk into any emergency room and receive free hospital care, prescription drugs, hospitalization and be completely free of any medical bills. American on the other hand are hassled by debt collectors, garnishment of wages and court appearances, because they have a social security number.
Now the middle class already overburdened with war appropriation funds, is still force to pay for the education, free health-care and Federal, state welfare handouts for illegal criminals. SIGN UP FOR THE SAVE ACT(H.R.4088) enforcement ‘ONLY’ law at http://www.numbersusa.com.

Why is it the immigration raids a small chicken company for illegals when I company like Perdue Farms based in Salisbury Maryland with three large processing plants has illegals totaling almost 85% of it’s plant workforce and nothing is done? I guess is boils down to who you donate money to…..isn’t that right Jimmy!!!

Maybe because people around here have been logging complaints about this chicken plant for months. Could be Perdue Farms is on the horizon.
And who is Jimmy? CEO of Perdue Farms or something?

I just read that House of Raeford/Columbia Farms has 8 plants scattered throughout the south and Michigan. I guess it isn’t a small operation.

South Carolina lost its jobs when the textile industry outsourced to China and elsewhere. Immigrants aren’t the problem. Even corporations too cheap to hire legal workers aren’t the problem.
The reason Americans are hurting for jobs is that there are hardly any jobs left, because greedy corporate pigs and their greedy shareholders want to maximize profits by hiring slave labor in countries with less worker protection.
If Americans had any sense, we’d fight to bring our jobs back, and we’d stop imports at the borders, not workers. If we did that, we’d have to beg people to come work here, because we’d have too many jobs to go around.
Too bad Americans prefer to scapegoat and hate rather than see the real enemy and take real action. But then, it’s a lot safer to pick on some poor illegal who just wants a job than it is to take on the CEOs of Nike and Walmart, isn’t it?
